Energy Grants Available for Manufacturing Emission Reduction

Funding will be for improvements for smaller manufacturing firms.

The Department of Energy (DOE) has announced that $80 million in grant funding is available to help small- to medium-sized manufacturers make energy-efficient upgrades to their facilities.

More than 90% of America’s manufacturing industry is made up of small- and medium-sized manufacturers. This funding will be distributed to that industry base through the DOE’s Industrial Assessment Center, which partners with community colleges, trade schools, and union programs to offer in-depth operational assessments to manufacturing facilities.

“Small- and medium-sized manufacturers will play a major role in increasing domestic production of technologies and materials that will position the U.S. to lead the global clean energy transition,” said Secretary of Energy Jennifer Granholm. “President Biden’s Investing in America agenda is enabling facilities across the country to increase energy efficiency, cut costs, and contribute to a clean energy economy that works for all.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Granholm to be discerning as grants are awarded to reduce carbon emission.
  • For Coordinator John Smegel as he oversees the DOE’s Industrial Assessment Center.
  • That the grant recipients will utilize the funding effectively and efficiently.
